Short's attention span
'Moses' mini followed by Cielo after-party

After riding dot-com mania from boom to bust, fledgling thesp Stephan Paternot was bemused about the media attention surrounding "Wholey Moses," a 22-minute short that unspooled Thursday night to curious spectators.

"I've been on the front page of the Wall Street Journal three times, and no one says a thing," shrugged the co-founder of TheGlobe.com. "Then I'm in some photo spread in Vogue and everyone calls me."
Wholey Moses stars Stephan Paternot and Annabelle Dexter-Jones
join helmer Todd Heyman at the post-preem bash at Cielo.

And unlike most shorts, this one was followed by a glam after-party. For Paternot, it was no different from the glitz of his dot-com days.

"Remove the engineers and geeks and bring in film geeks," he observed. That was a tactful newbie understatement since the "film geeks" in question included his ingenue co-star, Annabelle Dexter-Jones, and her extended family: socialite mom Ann Dexter-Jones, dad Mick Jones of Foreigner and Ronson sibs Charlotte, Samantha and Mark, all denizens of Page Six.

Not among the boldfaced names was Globe co-founder Todd Krizelman.

Where is he? Said Paternot, "At business school, where my dad wishes I was."
