NEW YORK CITY PREMIERE of the short film, “WHOLEY MOSES”

Co-starring SHANNYN SOSSAMON and LINDA HAMILTON

Introducing STEPHAN PATERNOT

Co-founder of  theglobe.com in his acting debut

Today Show’s AL ROKER Narrates as the Weatherman

Stephan Paternot (co-founder theglobe.com, author of A Very Public Offering) has announced completion of post-production on Todd Heyman’s “Wholey Moses.” The short, which was shot in New York City, casts Paternot opposite Shannyn Sossamon (The Rules of Attraction, 40 Days and 40 Nights, A Knight’s Tale), Linda Hamilton (Dante's Peak, Terminator 2: Judgement Day and The Terminator) and Al Roker (Today Show) in the romantic comedy about donut addiction colliding with the search for love.

Hamilton plays Valerie, a sultry French bakery proprietress. Sossamon stars as Max, a raven-haired, sugar addicted beauty, and our favorite weatherman, Al Roker, narrates the story as the voice of The Weatherman. Paternot stars opposite Sossamon, as Stan Moses, a tormented, purple-haired donut painter searching for love. With a script by Heyman, who also directed, and cinematographer David Phillips (The Basketball Diaries) on board, the short is expected to appear on the international film festival circuit during 2003. The New York City Premiere, a debut for Heyman and Paternot, will be at 7:30pm, Feb. 6 at the Clearview Cinemas, 260 West 23rd St. (bet 7th and 8th Ave.) Drinks & treats to follow at Cielo, 18 Little W. 12th St.

As producer, Paternot is readying a big-screen version of his book, A Very Public Offering.  The novel chronicles his rise as co-CEO of theglobe.com.  At 24, Paternot saw his net worth skyrocket to nearly $100 million when he and his partner took his dot.com firm public in a record-setting Wall Street IPO. Two years later, he would see his fortune evaporate as internet stocks plummeted.  Paternot is currently adapting the book and will soon be looking to set the project up at a studio.

Paternot and Heyman are both available for interviews before and after the screening. For additional information, please visit  www.wholeymoses.com  or www.paternot.com
